It’s officially spooky season! There’s something magical about the slower mornings and the darker evenings as autumn slowly settles in. It feels like a fresh start, a jump on the new year and the best time to get really creative. I always pick up a new notebook and diary, I love working an academic year and get straight to planning, scribbling notes all over the first few pages. I get this flurry of inspiration when the days get cooler. It’s almost like I can’t think straight in the heat, I am too flustered. Bothered. Muddled.
Days are slowly filled with content notes and coffee. Sitting on benches watching the people pass on by with maps and suitcases, trying to navigate their first few hours in a new place. Wanders around my favourite galleries and enjoying the city now that it’s a little quieter after the festival rush and rainy season is finally rolling in.
Slow evenings are then filled with family movies and editing when the kids are in bed. Watching When Harry Met Sally or absolutely any Norah Ephron classic on repeat. It’s good for the soul and nothing gets you in the mood quicker than the perfect rom-coms, especially paired with some good soup or a warm drink.
October has and always will be my favourite month, it nourishes my soul and I cant wait to be sitting by a fire with a good book and a hot chocolate. Let me know your favourite thing to do in the colder months?
Stay cosy,
Zoë xo
