*This post is part of an AD campaign*
Each season we make a list of things we love to do, going puddle jumping in the autumn, Home Alone marathon’s at Christmas and finding the perfect blossom tree’s in the spring, but summer hits a little different. The kids are off school a while, the nights are warmer, we bundle up the blankets, pack the car and picnic dinner at the beach until the sun starts to set. Bundling sleepy kids into the car, heading home before the next adventure.
Boden got in touch with their Summer Camp activities and we were excited to take part in their Mini Missions. There are 4 missions for you to take part in, you can print out the pages for the one you choose, they come with instructions for each activity, ideas and colouring pages too. There are even badges to collect for your little campers which makes it all the more fun!
Forts are one of those fun activities that can be done at home using the sofa & chairs or in the woods with blankets and cushions, either way they are heaps of fun and the kids really love it.
We couldn’t wait to build a fort and have a picnic, it’s one of our favourite summer things to do and I think you will agree that we earnt our badges.
We hung some rope between trees, clipped on some of our cosiest blankets and added some pom poms & cushions inside for extra comfort before we designed our own t-shirts! Ruby came up with a brilliant idea of adding texture to her t-shirt with some tree rubbings and collected some clovers to decorate it too.
Our second mini mission was a picnic. Picnic’s don’t have to be lavish affairs, they can be as simple as chopping up some fruit & veg and popping it in a baking tray. Grab some favourites, a flask of hot chocolate and you are ready to go. If you are feeling extra fancy you can bring along some skooshy cream and sprinkles too.
We had a woodland soundtrack playing and a few ‘songs’ from Harry on the ukulele, and everyone had a wee dance.
I have always loved Boden clothing, its so bright and colourful. It reminds me of things I wore when I was younger with a modern twist and it takes me right back to being a kid. Fairisle cardigans might be some of my favourite items of clothing and oh how I wish those frog dungaree’s came in my size!
We had so much fun creating these images, and the kids are already planning their next fort building adventure, but this time with a camp fire and marshmallows!
