twins, parent blogger, goals, new years resolutions, 2018 goals, parent blogger, my little wildlings,

I tend to go from positive to negative within seconds.  I always see the worst in most situations and always worry something is going to go wrong.  And it rarely does, so why oh why do we worry about things quite so much?  Give ourselves unnecessary stress and panic.  This year will be about seeing the good and best of each moment.
And making the most of those tiny moments of good that will forever, without a doubt, outweigh the bad.

I find myself randomly picking up my phone, checking instagram.  Putting it down.  Passing it and checking the time.  Checking a message and instagram again and before I know it, it’s almost lunch time.
I read a quote once along the lines of ‘Wherever you are, be all there’.  And I loved it.
Such a true statement.
I often find myself delaying things to check what the latest ping was and checking it instead of loading the dishwasher, then regretting it the moment I need a clean glass.
So, trying to have no more technology at the dinner table, or during family time. We might even practice some switch off Sundays. maybe.

Sometime we take things for granted and forget to be grateful.  The fact that I woke up and was able to have another day with my children was a miracle some didn’t get.  Learning to be more grateful this year for the tiny small moments that I often overlook.

Always be kinder than you think you should. Because its free, right?  And why not?  So, the waitress was a little grumpy, smile… be kind. Who knows, she could have teething twins at home, be a single parent, or have been up 6 times in the night with bad dreams. She could just be a grumpy so-and-so.  But, we’ll never know, and that small act of kindness might just change someones entire day.

I’m a people pleaser.  I hate saying no and letting people down.  But last year that came with a pretty big price tag. I got overwhelmed, had far too much on my plate and couldn’t get everything finished.  So this year, I plan on only saying yes to things that really make my heart leap and feel good about the direction I am taking with things.

I know.  I know.  You just read above that I was going to learn to say no.  But at home I’d LOVE to say yes more.  Cake for breakfast?  Why not!
Going up and down the escalators in the store 5 or 6 times instead or puddle jumping in the rain instead of rushing home.  You know, the things that will make their childhood memorable.
2018 is all about having more fun and saying yes to the little ones as often as I can.

Heres to a fun & positive 2018!  What are your goals, if you have any?

Great goals for 2018! There are some of them in my list too.
I’ve been following your instagram account for some weeks now and I love it, such a colorful feed and your children are lovely. I’ve always seen you like a very positive person, but it’s true that sometimes we lose our way and a little reminder, like this list, it’s very useful.
I’m so sorry to read your last post, I have no advice, besides to spend time with him and your children. Grandpa – children relationships are very special.
    Sending love from Spain!
