Two years ago, I dropped the kids at school and took a walk around town. I slowly wandered around my favourite spots, took a couple of photos of my favourite buildings on my phone and then went for a coffee and a cinnamon bun.
I sat with my coffee and watched the world go by from one of my favourite windows and decided there & then to start a second Instagram. I drafted some cheesy valentines themed post about falling in love with Edinburgh, hit post and went about my day.
I didn’t tell anyone, not for any other reason than it was just for me. Some where to share things I loved without the pressure of likes or follows, or the pressure posting things people wanted to see. I didn’t even tell my husband. I kept it quiet for a good few weeks, and in less than 3 months, I had 10K followers and it’s continued to grow into the community it is today.
I love sharing my favourite places, coffee shops and if I find a new cinnamon bun shot, you are the first to hear about it. I adore it when you all message me to tell me I’ve inspired a trip or you’ve tried a coffee shop or location I’ve recommended.
I’ve met so many of you lovely lot on your travels & made some good friends, all while getting to share my love for the place I call home.
Thank you for being here with me, for every like, comment & share. It means the world!
Happy Valentine’s Day,
Zoë xox
hello from Malta, this post is so inspirational. For years I have been pondering about turning my love for photography/travel/history/culture into something … dropping my day time job and doing something I would really love and have been doing for donkey’s years. Any tips? I wouldn’t even know from where to start 🙁
Just go for it! start posting what you love on social media and you’ll never get bored of it. My hobby turned into a job and I can honestly say I adore every single day I get to go to work, keep me updated with your adventures! 🙂
