Week 18 | Living Arrows

Ever had one of those weeks where not much has gone to plan?
We’ve had such a good run of things lately. The babies were eating amazingly, Ruby was getting on wonderfully at preschool.  The sun was shining, the birds were singing.
Then, BAM!  Just like that…  We have a kink in the jetstream from the Arctic and everyone is cold, grumpy and catching bugs left right and centre.  I survived on 2 hours sleep (max) every night this week.  The babies were so poorly and couldn’t keep a meal down.  No one was sleeping, everyone was crying and there was nothing I could do to fix it.
Nothing at all.

Thankfully, life has eased off and everyone seems to be on the mend.  Ruby’s still not great but at least the babies are sleeping.  It’s pretty much half the battle.  Life with twins is challenging enough, often people ask ‘How do you do it?’  Double the clean up, double the nappies, double the crying and double teething pains.  Double hugs to share, with double smiles coming back to you. It has it has bad days, but the good out weigh those 10 fold.

Take time to hug ’em tight while they are little.  The days sure are long but the years are pretty short.

Oh my that does sound like a tough week. Hopefully the germs will depart for pastures new and leave you a chance to catch up on the sleep, because it definitely sounds like you need it! Poor you and poor poorly babies!
