It’s ‘The Mummy Tag’! I’ve seen this post floating around a few blogs, it’s always lovely to read a little more about the mummy bloggers I follow, and now it’s my turn!
Thanks to Lou from Birds & Lillies for tagging me.
1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum or a Working Mum?
Both! I’m a stay at home mum 7 days a week, I work 2/3 days a week in my studio, I’m a newborn photographer, so its only a few hours and then I am back to mummy by lunch time. I edit most nights when the little ones go to bed and blog as often as I can.
2. Would you have it any other way?
A little. I adore being at home with the kids & being mummy. My husband works really long hours and I would love for my extra time blogging to be able to support our family a little more so he could spend more time at home with us. We love some good old family time.
3. Do you co-sleep?
I sure do. It was never planned. Ruby was in her own cot at 3 months as she slept through the night, when she woke in the morning, she came in beside us and slept another hour. The twins were in a bedside crib for a long time. They were quite poorly babies with dairy allergies so I kept them close a little longer. Now Lucy, who is 11 weeks, is my co-sleeping buddy. She’s our last, so I want this tiny baby part to last that little bit longer, she’s an ace snuggler!
4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
With the twins I was on my own a lot. I had to stop feeding them due to the dairy allergy and I couldn’t feed both at once in the early days, so we had Podee bottles. The best invention ever. I’d feed one and podee the other and then swap my snuggles on the next feed. Saved a lot of screaming babies!
5. How many kids do you plan on having?
We always wanted a big family, I had dreams of all these little kids running around as I baked cookies in the kitchen. We were so blessed to have had Ruby after failed attempts at IVF & never ever thought we would go on to have another one, let along three.
There’s no plans for any more though!
6. Date nights? How often do you have them?
Right now? None. It’s pretty shocking really, Once upon a time, we used to go every other weekend when the little ones stayed with the grandparents. We still have move nights at home. My husband works pretty late and Lucy is still new so they are on hold right now…
7. Your child’s favourite show?
Ruby’s favorite is anything with fairies in it.
Harry & Emily love Nelly & Nora on CBeebies, They both sing the theme tune.
I’m partial to a little bit of Mr Bloom. He has lovely hands!
8. Name one thing you brought before you had the baby and never ended up using?
A nappy bin. So much effort. ugh.
9. Your child’s favourite food?
Harry: sausages. Of any kind, regular, hot dogs, peparami.
Emily: shovels in sweetcorn like it’s going out of fashion,
Ruby’s is chinese rice (mum fail). Or she loves to pop blueberries in the top of a raspberry.
Lucy’s is mama’s boobie milk of course!
10. How many cars does your family have?
One. A Ford Grand C Max. 7 seater, so we have one vacant seat and it’s still a bit of a squeeze with all the car seats. I don’t actually drive either (shock) If I need to go out with the kids while my husband is at work, I catch the bus or train.
11. Weight gain, before pregnancy, during, after and now?
Luckily, I’ve always sported the ‘basket ball’ up my t-shirt look. With the twins, they were almost 6lb each so I actually lost weight when I was carrying them. They arrived at 37 weeks and I weighed less the day I gave birth to them than before I was pregnant.
12. Dream holiday with your kids?
Florida, without a doubt. We went for our Honeymoon almost 10 years ago and it was just the most magical place. I’d love to see my kids faces as they walked into the magical kingdom. One day we’ll take them all and it will be amazing!
13. Dream holiday without your kids?
Oh Paris! We wen’t for Ruby’s 3rd birthday a few years ago. We had a long weekend of sightseeing and a trip to the little disney. There were so many things I wanted to see but trailing a pram around wasn’t great in the heat. So, we would love to go back for a week, or long weekend together, see more of Paris and enjoy time as a couple, where best to spend it?
14. How has your life changed since having kids?
It’s certainly busier. The kids have a better social life than we do. I’m always off to ballet, rainbows or a party. I think we’ve grown as a couple since we had them, they sort of completed our family unit.
15. Finish the sentence “It makes heart melt when…”
I see them all sneakily loving on each other. They stop each other for hugs in the hallway. Or one will pop a kiss on another’s cheek. All the feels. All of them!
16. Where do you shop for your kids?
Zara is a favorite of ours, the clothes are just lovely. Polarn O. Pyret, and I can’t resist a little independent seller on Instagram either.
17. Favourite make-up and skincare products?
Whats that? If I get 5 minutes to wash yesterdays make up off and brush my teeth, the day is off to an amazing start! I’m rubbish at being girl in all honestly, hair I can do, but make-up? My make up budget & time went out the window with baby 4.
18. Huggies or Pampers?
Neither, we love Asda’s ‘Little Angels’ range. We have 3 under 2… its a LOT of butt changing in our house.
19. Have you always wanted kids?
Always, ever since I was little. I always knew I’d grow up to be a mummy. It took us a long time and a few rounds of IVF to have Ruby & we wanted another go and were surprised with the twins.
Little Lucy miracle was our bonus baby!
20. Best part of being a mum?
I believe what you put out there comes back to you. Bringing these tiny humans into the world, teaching them best you can and seeing them blossom into these amazing people. Thats the best part. Knowing it was you that created them and nurtured them into who they are.
It’s been so much fun, I’d love to see these Mummies take part:
