Five | Slow Living

1

My little girl turned 5.  It all happened in the blink of an eye.
One day I was carrying a tiny little bundle home from the hospital, a new life.  A beginning as a baby and a mother, the next thing I knew I was wrapping gifts with teary eyes and hiding giant number 5 balloons in the wardrobe.  You only seemed to be brand new for what felt like a few minutes.

When you were little we would spend mornings in our jammies, making pancakes, spend afternoons on farms picking the best strawberries and eating more than we put in our baskets or napping away afternoons with your milk breath on my cheeks as we lay on fresh bedding in the afternoon sun.
Now, I patiently wait for you to come home from school, to hear the excitement of your day without me & how you passed a surprise spelling test. Each minute is counted down in excitement as I tell the twins stories of when you were little.

No matter how slow lived we are, the years fly past us faster than we realize.

Happy Birthday sweet girl.
